Frequently Asked Questions

Does a client representative need to attend the photoshoot?

Yes, the client (or an authorised representative) must attend the photoshoot in order to provide the photographer with access to the property and advise photo preference (angles and rooms). Please note: our photographers do not pick up keys from agencies.

Do I need to prepare the property for the photographer?

Yes, and to help you make the property “photo-ready”, we recommend you follow our Pre-Photography Checklist. We accept no responsibility for tidying or cleaning the property, we will photograph it as is on the day

What if the weather isn’t any good on the day?

Whether it is an overcast day or even raining lightly, our professional photographers are equipped to capture your property photos in these conditions. As the photographer is the expert, if they deem the weather to be too harsh to photograph in, then no fees will apply for postponing or cancelling a photoshoot. If you wish to go ahead with a photoshoot in bad weather conditions (and the photographer agrees) and you are not happy with the final images, there will be no refund on the photoshoot and you will be required to rebook a new photoshoot at your expense.

What if I need to cancel/postpone the photoshoot?

Please call the BoxBrownie.com office on 1300 334 833 (the photographer should only be contacted directly if you’re running late or the weather is bad).

  • Postponements – There is no charge to change the time/date of a photoshoot if at least 24 hours notice is provided. If less than 24 hours notice is provided, a 50% fee will be charged. If you wish to change the time/date of a photoshoot within 4 hour of the scheduled booking, you will be charged 100% of the booking fee in addition to the fee of the new photoshoot.
  • Cancellations – There is no charge to cancel a photoshoot if at least 48 hours notice is provided. If less than 48 hours notice is provided, 100% of the fee will be charged.
  • Bad weather – If you wish to postpone a photoshoot due to overcast weather or light rain (conditions in which our professional photographers are more than capable of shooting in and producing professional photographs) and give less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged a 50% of the booking fee. If you give less than 1 hour notice for postponing a photoshoot due to these weather conditions, you will be charged 100% of the booking fee.

I’m trying to order a $69 photoshoot, but the system won’t let me book it?

Currently, our $69 (5 photo) special is only available ocean-side (east) of the Bruce Highway. We are aiming to have this service available to all areas of the Sunshine Coast in the near future!

How long do photographers take at each photoshoot?

You can expect the following photoshoot times.

Day shoots:

  • 5 photos: 15–25 minutes on site
  • 10 photos: 25–35 minutes on site
  • 15 photos: 40–55 minutes on site
  • 20 photos: 40–55 minutes on site
  • 25 photos: 50–75 minutes on site
  • 30 photos: 60–90 minutes on site

Dusk shoots:

  • 10 photos: 50–75 minutes on site
  • 25 photos: 60–90 minutes on site

Can I include models/people in our photoshoots?

No, our photoshoots are of the property only.

What if I need changes to the final images?

Once your photographer has uploaded your images, they will be edited using our 16 step image enhancement process. If you require any changes to the images at this stage, it is free! You can rework the images until you’re happy with the end product. Please use the “Need Something Changed” button on your Dashboard to quickly and easily send change requests to our editors.

Can I book a photographer same day?

Yes! You can book a photographer 4 hours in advance via your Dashboard, or if you have a last minute booking, call our customer service team on 1300 334 833 to check availability!

Can I request the same photographer as last time?

Yes, if you have a preference for one of our professional photographers, we encourage you to request them when making a booking.

What if I need to upgrade my photoshoot and take more images on the day?

If you require the photographer to take additional images during your photoshoot, please call our office on 1300 334 833.

What if I miss the scheduled photoshoot?

In the event that you do not turn up to the photoshoot, you will be charged 100% of the booking fee. Of course, we understand that sometimes there are emergencies and unavoidable situations. In these instances, please call our customer service team on 1300 334 833 to discuss the circumstances.

What if I am late to the scheduled photoshoot?

If you are late to the photoshoot and the photographer has another booking following your appointment, the photographer will take as many photos as possible within the time available. This means you may not end up with the number of images selected when making the booking. If you are late and the photographer does not have another booking, it is at the photographers discretion whether to stay and take the remaining shots, and to decide if additional fees are to be paid.

What happens if our photographer is running late?

We try and schedule photographers so that there is sufficient time to travel between appointments. On the rare occasion, a photographer may be running late. If this is the case, the photographer will call you to advise their new ETA.

What happens if our photographer doesn’t turn up to the photoshoot at the scheduled time?

We hope that you never have to experience this. Our photographers are recruited not only for their technical skills, but also for their professionalism and punctuality. On the very rare occasion, they may encounter an emergency and they are unable to attend. In this situation, please call our office on 1300 334 833 and we will rebook your photoshoot and refund your initial booking fee.

What happens if our photographer misses a particular angle or room that I wanted?

We encourage you (or your representative) to discuss with your photographer on their arrival specific angles or rooms that you want photographed. Standard practice for all of our professional photographers is to walk around the property prior to taking photos, feel free to walk around with them and point out any specific angles you want or spaces that you really want photographed. After the photoshoot is completed, your photographer will show you the images to ensure you are satisfied. If you do not discuss or specify particular angles or rooms you would like photographed, please note that we do not refund photoshoots if you are not happy with the images on the basis of style or composition.

How long do you store my photos for?

We keep your edited photos for at least 24 months. We may remove your original unedited photos after a much shorter period of time. We also encourage you to save your photos on your own computer.
